Until now, online communication has lacked personality, being limited to text (IM, SMS, email). Seesmic changes that, bringing conversation alive through video
Obviously in Loic's world, nobody has ever managed to express their personality though text. Not one blogger, or even author, has managed to convey through words alone a feeling, emotion, or made someone laugh or cry. No, that's only possible with a 320x240 video clip run through a rather poor Flash compressor.
"At last, the Internet is really social: you can see and hear people express their ideas and thoughts, you can join in, and you can make new friends. With Seesmic, everyone can participate in live conversations rich with personality, bought to life through video," commented Ron Conway
Indeed, for the last fifteen years I've been using an internet that has had no other people on it, and haven't spent a great deal of that time chatting with friends around the world using just text alone. Clearly I'm looking forward to the fact that, finally, I'll be able to talk to them, because just typing is evidently not a conversation, just some dry words on a screen, never managing to convey what I think or feel.
Really, I know this is the sort of 2lmc bile and sarcasm I'm meant to have left behind (or at least, kept out of the public eye), but such PR nonsense deserves more of a kicking than the passing grumbling at the top of a Valleywag post.
