I wasn't really paying attention when I was taking the photograph, so it was only when I got home that I realised the chap had played to the camera. And thank goodness he did. Maybe I shouldn't have admitted that. Oh well.

As soon as I saw the <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/shared/spl/hi/pop_ups/07/uk_enl_1191421439/html/1.stm">BBC's photo</a> when the exhibition of the work of Louise Bourgeois opened, I thought that the picture they'd taken hadn't made the most of the light. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to go down to Tate Modern at sunset until tonight, and it turned out to be one of those odd pink/purple ones, with a very thin layer of cloud providing just the right sort of colour. No postprocessing here but a little straightening. Maybe I should go back at dawn so there are fewer people in the way, but still, I'm pretty happy with this.

Not the slogan that Nintendo have used for their latest UK touch generations / DS Lite advert, but they might as well have. Repeat after me: women gamers don't need everything to be pink. (The article's awful, but the comments are largely sane, or were the last time I checked.)
I thought the <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/blech/266369470/">pink DS ad</a> was bad, but this is much, much worse. It looks awful, has a horrible celebrity tie-in, and... ugh. Just ugh.
Taken three and a half years ago, on a rather inflexible digital compact (an Ixus v³, fwiw), but I'm still very happy with it. It's nice to get it out of a data silo and into Flickr so I can find it, anyway.
